Cycle London Virtual
The first in our series of Cycle challenges, all based around the marathon distance. In the case of Cycle London you need to complete the equivalent of 4 marathons on your bike which is a whopping 104.8 miles. If you feel this is too far you can enlist a partner or build a team of 4. Pairs complete 52.4 miles each and a team of 4 complete a marathon each covering 26.2 miles each.
Any Time Challenge
This event can be done in any month of the year
Race Day Challenge – 25th of August 2020
Individuals – 104.8 miles
Pairs – 52.4 miles per person
Team of 4 – 26.2 miles per person
With the Cycle London special challenge, you will need to defeat Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya’s record marathon time set in London in 2019. His time stands at 2 hours, 2 minutes and 37 seconds and is the course record. Therefore, your time as an individual or as a team to beat is 4 x 2 hours 2 minutes and 37 seconds, which is a total of 8 hours 8 minutes and 28 seconds for the 104.8 mile distance. Just remember Kipchoge was on foot so hopefully you will really appreciate the magnitude of his achievement when you are trying to get that little bit of extra speed down every hill to catch him!
Official Times – To submit an official time you must use Garmin Connect, Strava, Map My Run, Nike App or any GPS tracking device. Take a picture of your tracker and submit via your online console.
Unofficial Times – You can submit evidence to us by simply keeping a daily log. At the end sign the log, take a photo and upload it to your Virtual Marathon Series online console. You will receive a medal and our congratulations but your time will only be recorded as an unofficial time.
