Take this 5K challenge on any time of year or on Halloween.
Do it in your running gear or a spooky character from your favourite movie scene!
Trick or treat for the kids this year might get the red flag but why not create your own healthy version with a medal and goodie bag.
The Virtual Halloween 5K Run is designed to be fun for the whole family and can be done either on Halloween or on any other day of the year.
*Each participating member must obtain an entry, 10% of entry fees go to charity. We are working with a host of amazing charities who are putting together teams in all of the Virtual Marathons. If you are interested in joining one of the charity teams visit our charity listings pages. International entry is for someone not from the UK and NI.*
Virtual Halloween Run Official Run
To qualify for an official time in the Virtual Halloween Run you must run a 5k ON Halloween, Saturday 31st October. By doing, so you will be added to our leader boards and receive a medal for completing the challenge.
Any Time Challenge
To qualify for the ANY TIME CHALLENGE for our Virtual Halloween Run you must run a 5k on ANY day of the year other than Halloween. By doing, so you will be added to our leader boards and receive a medal for completing the challenge.

14+ or 5 and over if accompanied by an adult
Evidence
Official Times – To submit an official time you must use Garmin Connect, Strava, Map My Run, Nike App or any GPS tracking device. Take a picture of your tracker and submit via your online console.
Unofficial Times – You can submit evidence to us by simply keeping a daily log. At the end sign the log, take a photo and upload it to your Virtual Marathon Series online portal. You will receive a medal and our congratulations but your time will only be recorded as an unofficial time.
Special Challenge
The Virtual Halloween Run has a special challenge attached and asks that you dress up in fancy dress on Halloween to complete it. Quite simply to earn the special challenge virtual medal you will need to upload a picture of you at the end of your run in fancy dress.
We are also offering two prizes.
- The first one is for the fastest time in fancy dress, become our Halloween world record holder
- Secondly, to the person who raises the most money for their chosen charity by Halloween.
We will donate £250 to the charities chosen by the 2 winners and they will receive a running goodies pack from our partner RunThrough in the post with their medal.
To apply for the fastest runner, you will need to enter your time through the Virtual Marathon Series portal and complete the 5K in fancy dress on Halloween. We will validate your time and let you know if you win.
To apply for the highest fundraiser, you will need to send an email to [email protected] with a link to your fundraising page no later than the 1st of November each year. We will check you completed the run on Halloween and that you have beaten the rest of the competition.

Find yourself in the top 10 on the leader board and earn yourself rewards and prizes from our sponsors and partners. Make sure to keep an eye on where you rank so you can re-enter if you are knocked out of the top 10.
To submit an unofficial time
1. Find the email with your login details that we sent you when you signed up
2. Log in to your VMM runners console
3. Click on the event you are participating in
4. As you have paid for your place the submit evidence section will be active
5. Follow the instructions, select individual and unofficial and add all of the evidence required
6. Click submit and wait for confirmation
7. Your time will be calculated for you
8. That is it, job done; your medal is on its way.
9. Sign up for your next big event in the runners portal
To submit an official time
