Available to runners of all abilities the Virtual New Year Run is designed to get you fit and healthy and energised for the next 12 months.

Your goal is to rack up the marathon distance of 26.2 miles in January, finishing with one final run on January the 31st.

You can complete the challenge in ANY of the following ways.

1 x 26.2 miles on the 31st of January


2 x 13.1 miles with one of the 2 half marathons being completed on the 31st of January


4 x 10.54Km with the last 10.54km run being completed on the 31st of January


8 x 5.27Km with the last 5.27Km being completed on the 31st of January


10 x 2.62 miles with the last 2.62 miles being completed on the 31st of January


25 x 1.048 miles with the last 1.048 miles completed by the 31st of January

*Each participating member must obtain an entry, 10% of entry fees go to charity. We are working with a host of amazing charities who are putting together teams in all of the Virtual Marathons. Virtual New Year Official Run

To qualify for an official time in the Virtual New Year Run you must run 26.2 miles on January 31st 2021. By doing, so you will be added to our leader boards and receive a medal for completing the challenge.

Any Time Challenge

To qualify for the ANY TIME CHALLENGE Virtual New Year Run you must rack up the marathon distance 26.2 miles in the whole month of January 2021. By doing, so you will be added to our leader boards and receive a medal for completing the challenge.

Evidence

Official TimesTo submit an official time you must use Garmin Connect, Strava, Map My Run, Nike App or any GPS tracking device. Take a picture of your tracker and submit via your online console.

Unofficial TimesYou can submit evidence to us by simply keeping a daily log. At the end sign the log, take a photo and upload it to your Virtual Marathon Series online portal. You will receive a medal and our congratulations but your time will only be recorded as an unofficial time.

Special Challenge

The Virtual New Year Run has a special challenge attached and asks that you complete your marathon distance faster than celebrity funny man Kevin Hart. Kevin Hart’s fastest marathon time was 4:05:06 and was completed at the New York Marathon in 2018. His time gave him an average pace of 9.21 minutes per mile. If you complete the challenge with a time below 4:05:06 you will receive the Virtual Gold medal and be added to our special leaderboard.

The Virtual Marathon Series are also offering a prize to the person who raises the most money for their chosen charity by 31st of January. They will donate £250 to the charity of the winner’s choice. To apply for the highest fundraiser, you will need to send an email to [email protected] with a link to your fundraising page no later than the 1st of February.

To submit an unofficial time 1. Find the email with your login details that we sent you when you signed up 2. Log in to your VMM runners console 3. Click on the event you are participating in 4. As you have paid for your place the submit evidence section will be active 5. Follow the instructions, select individual and unofficial and add all of the evidence required 6. Click submit and wait for confirmation 7. Your time will be calculated for you 8. That is it, job done; your medal is on its way. 9. Sign up for your next big event in the runners portal To submit an official time 1. Find the email with your login details that we sent you when you signed up 2. Log in to your VMM runners console 3.
