The Virtual Santa Dash is brought to you by the Virtual Marathon Series and is a fun 5K run to be done with friends and family or competitively on your own.

Take this 5K challenge on anytime between now and the 25th of December.

Do it in your running gear on your own or dressed as Christmas elves with the family!

To be entered into the SPECIAL CHALLENGE (see below) you must do it in fancy dress.

*Each participating member must obtain an entry, 10% of entry fees go to charity. We are working with a host of amazing charities who are putting together teams in all of the Virtual Marathons. If you are interested in joining one of the charity teams visit our charity listings pages. International entry is for someone not from the UK and NI.*

** If you are joining us from outside of the UK and want your medal shipped to an international address, please select either ‘International Any Time Challenge’ or International Race Day Challenge’ as this incorporates the international postage and packaging fee.  

Virtual Santa Dash Official Run

To qualify for an official time in the Virtual Santa Dash you must run a 5k ON Christmas Day. By doing, so you will be added to our leader boards and receive a medal for completing the challenge.

Any Time Challenge

To qualify for the ANY TIME CHALLENGE for our Virtual Santa Dash you must run a 5k on ANY day of the year other than Christmas Day. By doing, so you will be added to our leader boards and receive a medal for completing the challenge.

Evidence

Official Times – To submit an official time you must use Garmin Connect, Strava, Map My Run, Nike App or any GPS tracking device. Take a picture of your tracker and submit via your online console.

Unofficial Times – You can submit evidence to us by simply keeping a daily log. At the end sign the log, take a photo and upload it to your Virtual Marathon Series online portal. You will receive a medal and our congratulations but your time will only be recorded as an unofficial time.

Special Challenge

The Virtual Santa Dash has a special challenge attached and requires you to dress up in Christmas fancy dress to complete it. Its as simple as that. Dress up as Santa, a Christmas Elf or Rudolph and run the 5K, take a picture of you on the course or at the end and upload your photo to the Runners portal.

The Virtual Marathon Series are also offering two prizes.

  1. The first one is for the fastest time in Christmas fancy dress, become the Christmas world record holder
  2. Secondly, to the person who raises the most money for their chosen charity by Christmas Day.

They will donate £250 to the charities chosen by the 2 winners and they will receive a running goodies pack from their partner Run Through in the post.

To apply for the fastest runner, you will need to enter your time through the Virtual Marathon Series portal and complete the 5K in a Santa costume or another suitable Christmas suite. Christmas not Birthday!

To apply for the highest fundraiser, you will need to send an email to [email protected] with a link to your fundraising page no later than the 1st of January.

    • To submit an unofficial time 1. Find the email with your login details that we sent you when you signed up 2. Log in to your VMM runners console 3. Click on the event you are participating in 4. As you have paid for your place the submit evidence section will be active 5. Follow the instructions, select individual and unofficial and add all of the evidence required 6. Click submit and wait for confirmation 7. Your time will be calculated for you 8. That is it, job done; your medal is on its way. 9. Sign up for your next big event in the runners portal To submit an official time 1. Find the email with your login details that we sent you when you signed up 2. Log in to your VMM runners console 3. Click on the event you are participating in 4. As you have paid for your place the submit evidence section will be active 5. Follow the instructions, select individual and official 6. Add all of the evidence required in each step and add your times 7. Click submit and wait for confirmation 8. Your time will be calculated for you and shown 9.
