Run just under 3 miles a day for 10 days or take on the full marathon distance in one to complete the Run Sydney Virtual Challenge!
*Each participating member must obtain an entry, 10% of entry fees go to charity. We are working with a host of amazing charities who are putting together teams in all of the Virtual Marathons. Run Sydney Virtual
The 10 day Challenge; to complete this challenge you need to complete 2.62 miles every day for 10 days. By doing so you will complete a marathon distance over the 10 days. If you record all of your times on each of the 10 days through our online runners console, you will receive your marathon time. 10 x 2.62 = 26.2 miles.
You can also split the distance up in one of the following ways:
- 26.1 miles as a individual
- 13.1 miles in a pair (13.1 Miles per person)
- 10.54 miles in a team of 4 (10.54 Km per person)
- 5.27Km in a team of 8 (5.27Km per person)
- 2.62 miles in a team of 10 (2.62miles per person)
- 1.048 miles in a team of 25 (1.048 miles per person)
On completion, your marathon time will be calculated and added to the Run Sydney leader board and you will then be rewarded with the Run Sydney bronze medal.
14+ or 5 and over if accompanied by an adult
Official Times – To submit an official time you must use Garmin Connect, Strava, Map My Run, Nike App or any GPS tracking device.
Take a picture of your tracker and submit via your online console.
Unofficial Times – You can submit evidence to us by simply keeping a daily log. At the end sign the log, take a photo and upload it to your Virtual Marathon Series online portal. You will receive a medal and our congratulations but your time will only be recorded as an unofficial time.
For the Run Sydney special challenge, you are up against Adrienne Beames of Australia. Beames is often accredited as the first female to break the 3 hour marathon time back in 1971. We are looking for you to complete your marathon time in under 3 hours to defeat Adrienne Beames. Submit your 10 times through your running portal, calculate and submit your marathon time. You will need to run each of your 2.62 miles in under 18 minutes each day and you will complete this challenge, defeat Adrienne Beames marathon time and be added above Beames in our leader board for the Sydney Virtual Marathon. This challenge is not required to obtain your Run Sydney Bronze medal but will give the special challenge virtual medal in your runners portal and on the leaderboards.

Make sure to keep an eye on where you rank so you can re-enter if you are knocked out of the top 5. Once you have signed up as well as our leaderboard we will have special challenges with prizes, for this event the special challenge.
